Let whatever comes out from inside come out

Updated: Jul 12, 2021

Are you comfortable in feeling your emotions?

In the modern society, being emotional is not welcomed. If someone say “she is too emotional” in your office, this could mean she is not professional.

But one of the things we can do to live our life fully is to embrace our feelings and whatever comes from our body. I would like to encourage you to let things come out from your body, whether it is physical stuff or emotions.

Especially when something is coming out from your body, please don’t suppress it. It is telling you something. It is very important, but so many people ignore this and get sick.

Our body tries to let out many things from inside every day, visible or invisible. Bodily wastes, gas, acne, cough, running nose, tears, eczema, sometimes nosebleed, etc. It can be invisible such as stomachache, sour throat, emotions, like happiness, sadness, excitement, disappointment and so on.

Those things come out for reasons. One of the reasons is our body is detoxing by letting these things out.

Dr. Yoshiharu Shindo, a Japanese doctor, says in his book “whether it is cough, or sputum or snot, when something is coming out, it all means toxin is coming out. It is a function of our body which tries to let toxin out of our body and cure our body.” “Don’t complain coughing midnight and cannot sleep. If you cough actively, you can cure faster.”

In my case, I have stiffness in my left back, and this is very uncomfortable. I went to see a doctor, but he said nothing was wrong. I got massages, but the effect did not last long. And I finally found my body is telling me “don’t sit so long. Move around more often.” I found in 2020 that Cha Cha helps release the stiffness. We move our pelvis a lot in Latin dances, which is good for stiffness in our back :)

In case that feelings and emotions are coming out, let’s feel them fully, which can also be detoxifying your body. Feelings do not go away until you feel fully. “Anything you resist persists ― and grow stronger,” said Ariel & Shya Kane in “Working on Yourself Doesn’t Work”

One competence we can develop is to be sensitive what is going on your body. Be conscious about what is happening in our body.

Here are the tips to become more conscious about your body and feelings.

1. Scan your body in your mind every morning after you wake up, and notice if you have any condition in your body.

2. When someone ask “How are you?” Don’t say “I am fine” as a default answer.

Reply with your real feeling. For example “I am nervous ahead of my presentation.” Or

“I feel still sleepy.” This will make you more conscious about how you feel.

3. Learn Cha Cha (or any Latin dances) if you have back stiffness!

Try these and let us know how you feel.
