How to remove stress without meditating and journaling

Updated: Jun 14, 2022

When you are facing stressful circumstances, how do you handle them?

You may meet someone who doesn’t treat you well.

One thing I am sure of is that I don’t want to carry grudges because that is the fastest way to get seriously sick.

Today I am going to share two ideas that saved me from stress and pressure. I hope they help you also. So please keep reading.

As stress and challenges are inevitable in our life, it is very important to know how to release them.

Case No. 1

When I am angry with someone. When I can’t forgive someone

How to deal with

Think “Everyone is doing the best he (or she) can do, depending on his spiritual and mental maturity (myself included). What he does has nothing to do with me. And eventually, he will learn what happens if he keeps doing the thing he is doing whether I try to change him or not.”

Imagine a puppy. A puppy may bite your new Prada shoes and might pee all over the place. But we cannot blame the puppy because it is a puppy. The puppy is doing the best he can do. My coach said everybody is a puppy. (Again, myself included.)

For example, if I am angry with a lazy boss who was unreasonably demanding,

I think

1. he is doing the best he can do at his current maturity level.

2. he is learning what happens if he keeps doing what he does right now.

Then I no longer feel angry (or I feel less angry).

Don’t keep a grudge inside of you FOR yourself. That will ruin your health from the inside of yourself.

Case No. 2

When I face challenges and I don’t know what to do

How to deal with

I say out loud “Challenges are fun. I welcome challenges” even though I am upset. Then I feel something shift inside of me.

Actually, I say these words every morning. It really helps. It doesn’t take time and money. So please try to do this.

I confess it is very difficult to think like this when something I don't want happens. Most of the time I become upset. But after a while, I remember to say “challenges are fun, I welcome challenges.”

Challenges and stress are inevitable in our life. They come to every single person on this planet. Then we can take them as a chance to grow.

This is what Kelly McGonigal, Ph.D. said in her book “The Upside of Stress”

“It’s not at all uncommon to wish for a life without stress. While this is a natural desire, pursuing it comes at a heavy cost. In fact, many of the negative outcomes we associate with stress may actually be the consequence of trying to avoid it.”

Once you face a challenge and you learn from it, the same challenge doesn’t come to you again. You become wiser.

It took me a long time to come to think like this. And I am still not 100% good at it. But I really think these ideas are surely moving my life forward. So, I would like you to try to think like this to see if they work for you or not.
