A story of a 91-year-old fitness instructor

Updated: Oct 18, 2022

Recently I met a lady who blew my mind. (Well, I met her on Youtube😆) Her name is Taki Mika.

She is a 91-year-old fitness instructor, and is often introduced as the oldest fitness instructor in Japan.

When I saw her in a youtube video, I was so impressed by her posture. Her spine was so straight and she was powerfully sitting. I fell in love with her at first sight. She taught me we can build muscles no matter our age.

Here is her story.

She started training at a fitness gym at the age of 65 when she was a housewife. She decided to go to the gym because people around her said that she gained weight.

She liked training at the gym and she went there every day. And she became a fitness instructor at the age of 87.

Her daily life:

She jogs for 2 hours every morning, and does other exercises for about 4 to 5 hours a day including the 2-hour jogging.

She doesn’t take any supplements as she is taking necessary nutrients from food.

She eats fermented food every day.

We can build muscles no matter our age

Now I am not saying we should do what she does. It is NOT the thing everybody can do. I am saying is that we can train our muscles, no matter our age. Taki Mika is living proof of that.

Another thing I want to highlight is that exercise keeps our mind healthy as well. I am sure her mind is clear because she exercises regularly.

We know exercise is good for our health. It is good not only for our physical body, but also for our mind.

“Exercise is the single most powerful tool you have to optimize your brain function,” said John J. Ratey in his book “Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain.”

Our blood circulation improves when we do exercise. Exercise increases the blood flow to our brain, and our brain can get more necessary nutrients.

After I met Taki Mika, I wanted to be like her. I started to take more time for exercises.

We can start with whatever we can do. The important thing is to continue.

Would you like to join me to be like Taki Mika?
